For many, each term started with the overnight school train from Uganda and its 0530 arrival at Eldoret. After a breakfast of porridge and maybe Marmite on toast Uganda pupils would spend the day watching Kenya pupils arrive by car. The count-down to the end of term some 84 days or so away would begin and the term ended with Uganda pupils watching Kenya pupils depart by car during the day and then waiting to be taken to the station for the homeward bound overnight school train to Uganda which left Eldoret at 2215. |
