Displaying 1H46 as the train identification number 27001 reverses on to its train and awaits the right away. After train identification displays were discontinued they were often replaced by the two white dots as shown on the other end of 27001 - PHOTOs Malcolm McCrow

The next train to arrive was a run-through headed by 47270 en route to Manuel (left). After having run round its train at Manuel the 47 is about to stop at Birkhill on the return run to Bo'ness (right).  The "Z" in the train identification number signified a special - PHOTOs Malcolm McCrow
