elephant - olifant - indlovu white rhino - wit renoster - umkhombe, Mala Mala
In late afternoon we came across a lone bull elephant and then a white rhino.  The term "white" is a corruption of the Afrikaans word "wyt" which means wide and refers to the rhino's wide chin.  The term was then corrupted from English back into Afrikaans as "witrenoster" - white rhino! - PHOTOs Malcolm McCrow
