By the mid 1980s many of the Class 101 DMUs had received the blue grey livery - just as it was being replaced with the new InterCity and ScotRail liveries on other coaching stock. The stock on many trains at the time was in mixed liveries as evidenced on the Glasgow bound train of mixed livery Mk 3 stock headed by a Mk 2 DVT. Edinburgh Aberdeen services also began to be operated by push pull units, the Edinburgh trains often having Mk 2d coaches in the consist. Mk 1 full brakes (BGs) were outshopped in ScotRail livery as seen on this train propelled by a filthy Class 47 - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURES Malcolm McCrow | |||||

The station pilot 08 shunter runs out from Platform 2 on to the up main shortly before the arrival of an Edinburgh working runs into Platform 2. The 08 then removes the ECS from the bay platform - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURES Malcolm McCrow | |||||
