Dundee - after the mid 1980s track rationalization

All of the following captures are from the same video shot in late afternoon/early evening of the same day in 1987
A local Perth service operated by a Class 101 DMU heads past 26031 acting as station pilot and shortly afterwards 47593 departs Platform 2 for Edinburgh - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow

After coupling to the coaches it has to wait for a DMU to depart from Platform1 - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
The 26 removes the coaches from Platform 3 and backs them into Platform 2.  In the meantime the 47 has run forward and awaits the signal to run out onto the main line and reverse on to its train - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow

While the 47 waits to back onto its train a short goods double headed by Class 20s - 20220 and 20204 arrives in what is left of the yard - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
26031 heads out from Platform 2 to remove the grain wagons from the short goods and free the Class 20s - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
Class 47 - 47206 - arriving with a local train from Perth and heading for Platform 4 - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
Class 47 - 47098 - departs with a train of vans behind a Mk 2 non air conditioned coach - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
Shortly afterwards an unidentified Class 47 arrives with a long train of cement wagons and gets stopped on the avoiding line - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
While the cement train train waits on the avoiding line a down HST arrives at Platform 4.  The whole train was in the then new InterCity livery, but something has happened to mar the paint work on the lead locomotive and passenger coach.  By now 47209 is again attached to its train and ready to depart for Edinburgh - VIDEO and VIDEO CAPTURE Malcolm McCrow
